IEEE 802.11ac defying skeptics?:-
IEEE 802.11ac is a new high speed wireless networking standard currently under development which will provide high throughput data operating in the 5Ghz RF spectrum. This standard will theoretically deliver bandwidth of 1 Gigabit per second and a maximum single link throughput of at least 500 megabit per second (500 Mbit/s). Broader RF bandwidth of up to 160Mhz, more MIMO spatial streams, multi-user MIMO and higher density modulation of up to 256 QAM is used to achieve the higher through put. Importantly, the 802.11ac standard will probably not be ratified until around mid 2012, according to the Wi-Fi Alliance. However, that did not stop Redpine Signals from developing the worlds first 802.11ac solution for integration into smartphone application processors and mobile combo chips. Redpine is known for it’s innovation in this sector. “Our Quali-Fi™ technology leverages proven low power innovations spanning over ten years and provides an optimal solution for integration into smart phone application processors and mobile combo chips,” said Venkat Mattela, CEO of Redpine Signals. Redpine will license Quali-Fi IP to qualified customers.
